Beaming happy son - Went on the full Monty experience as a spectator with Son as the driver. Experience was for his 21st birthday present. Didn't matter he wasn't in a group just him... read more as driver with me and his sister as spectators. lots of people their on there own or with a spectator or 2. Couple of people in groups of 2 or 3 or couples. John (my son) came of the the 4 vehicles he drove beaming, and John really isn't the beaming type. Even laughing after driving the Springer, this was because they had gone up a bank, Instructor laughing as John had apparently tried to kill him.
Spectators took part in the lighting fire in the wood and had little ride in Armed personal carrier and held a lot of different guns as instructor told us all about them. John had another attempt at trying to kill someone, this time his sister, because at the end of the our day John drove a tank that let on his Spector's me in hole in top of tank and his sister holding on the top the tank she her bottom came of the top of the tank as i think he took the "fun" bumpy track. John also shot a musket , archery and clay pigeon shooting.

I thought as spectators we would be bored. Couldn’t have been more wrong! We were included in all the sessions and if time allowed we’re offered the chance to drive some of the vehicles, take part in the clay shoot.
Would we go again? Hell yes!!! Already saving. Have talked about very little else since we left yesterday

  Best day ever  - Wow what an amazing day from start to finish! My son had a full Monty day for his 16th birthday and then my husband upgraded on the day to join... read more in too! My sister and I were spectators. Even as spectators we were able to join in some of the talks and demos and got a ride in one of the carrier tanks. The lunch was amazing, the staff went out of their way to make sure everyone had a good day, the banter was great. It truly is an amazing experience and 100% recommend.

We had the best day, I was a spectator & even though I was following him... read more around it was so inclusive. I got to ride in the top of a huge tank whilst he drove & I got to drive a off road buggy at speed, which I was nervous about but the instructor really encouraged me to put my foot down. My husband LOVED it, he drove a number of different military vehicles, he shot clays, & we learned survival skills. Lots of tea/coffee & a hot lunch provided. All the team/instructors were so friendly & funny, good banter. 5 ⭐ best day ever 😁

The lunch was great, home cooked food, tea biscuits all day and same snacks at the end couldn't of faulted them at all.
And the knowledge you learn will surprise you, simply but effective survival skills as well as military history.

We were very well looked after; the instructor was very knowledgeable and made sure the whole family was included in the experience. We are definitely going again!

  My wife bought a Half Day Tank Driving experience for me and then came along as a spectator too. What an incredible (half)day, I got to drive an FV432 armoured... read more personnel carrier, an Abbot self-propelled gun and a Springer 4x4 buggy (not technically tanks if you want to get particular, but definitely good enough).
You also get a talk about the history of fire-arms and a quick run through various types of guns and explosives up to the modern day in the Armoury room which has many deactivated guns hanging on the walls, there's a surprising variety too.

As you drive the vehicles you get scored (out of 10) and the person at the end of the day with the highest score gets to drive a Chieftain main battle tank and crush a car. I was one point of winning but standing outside to watch the carnage is just as fun I reckon.

Spectators have to pay £20 extra but they do get a lot for their money. My wife got to ride in the back of a FV432 with us to the driving area and then got to sit in the commander position of the Abbot as I drove it around. We even had enough time for her to drive a Springer too.

There was tea, coffee, juice and biscuits available at no extra charge all day long. Staff we're all extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
