A 12-BORE ROTARY-UNDERLEVER HAMMERGUN WITH PURDEY LOCKS, serial no 8322, a conversion from likely percussion (un serial-numbered damascus barrels with traces of Purdey address to rib at breech (heavily rubbed) with braze marking to flats and post 1887 proof marks), carved percussion fences, non-rebounding sidelocks (reprofiled forwards of sidenail, no serial numbers) with replacement hammers (left with repair to spur), triggerguard tang (heavily patinated) with ‘8322’ and fore-end iron similarly numbered, border and fine acanthus scroll engraving, 14 5/8in. figured stock including 3/4in. horn buttpad, fore-end wood with repairs
