16-BORE FLINTLOCK BRASS-BARRELLED BLUNDERBUSS SIGNED BRUETON,
circa 1770, with flaring 12in. barrel with a scroll engraved flourish and moulded band at breech, London proofs and makers stamp ‘H.B’, radiused straight lock with moulded borderline and scroll engraving to the pointed tail, unbridled frizzen and signed below the shallow pan ‘BRUETON’, engraved swan-necked cock (fracture forming), walnut handrail banana full-stock with brass furniture, carved apron and rococo escutcheon at wrist, pierced and moulded floral sideplate and working replacement worm-tipped ramrod
