20-BORE FLINTLOCK BRASS-BARRELLED BLUNDERBUSS WITH SPRUNG BAYONET, SIGNED JONES, WREXHAM
circa 1815, with two-stage 14 1/2in. barrel, offset cannon muzzle, the top-flat at breech marked ‘WREXHAM’ beneath the mounted triangular form bayonet with concave sides and released via a catch on the tang, borderline engraved top-tang with rounded tip, borderline engraved lock signed ‘JONES’ and with stepped tail, moulded edge and sliding safe behind the swan-necked cock (traces of finish), roller frizzen, walnut full-stock chequered at the wrist and with shotgun butt, brass furniture and original worm-tipped ramrod, complete with a period leather retaining strap for the bayonet
